Russell Benaroya

Chief Operating Officer and Managing Director, Private Capital, Timberlane Partners

Russell Benaroya is a real estate investor, entrepreneur and author who spends time helping people achieve their highest and best use by unlocking their genius zones. Russell has spent the last twenty years in investment banking, private equity, and entrepreneurship and today is the COO at Timberlane Partners, a private, multifamily real estate investment and development firm based in Seattle. Russell is also the author of One Life to Lead: Business Success Through Better Life Design.

Russell is also an avid ultramarathoner and has completed numerous hundred-mile races and self-supported expeditions. Oregon Cascades 100, Cascade Crest 100, Moab 100, Fat Dog 70, Wonderland Trail (93-self supported), Grand Canyon R2R2R, and Section J of the Pacific Crest Trail (74 miles - self supported). He recently completed the Marathon des Sables in the Sahara Desert. Next up? Tahoe 200 – June 2026.

His writing has appeared in Forbes and the Puget Sound Business Journal, and he is a recipient of the 40 Under 40 recognition from the PSBJ in Seattle. He is also the author of Free Yourself to Work on Your Business. Russell is an undergraduate from UC Santa Barbara, a business graduate of the Anderson School at UCLA and a longtime member of the Entrepreneurs’ Organization. Russell currently serves on the boards of Plymouth Housing and M.U.S.T (Mentoring Urban Students and Teens). He lives in Seattle with his wife, Melissa, and has two children, Devon (21) and Shane (19).
